First of all, your PSP needs to be a certain firmware version for downloaded games to work.
(To check your firmware, go to Settings, System Settings, System Information. Your ‘System Software’ is your firmware version.)
If your PSP version is higher than 1.51, you can NOT run any games from the Memory Stick.
However, it is possible to ‘downgrade’ your PSP, which will lower the version and allow you to play downloaded games.
As long as your PSP is between version 1.51 and 3.03, you can downgrade it.
However, if it is higher than 3.03, you cannot downgrade it as of yet.
