Why Wont The Little Icons Come Up When A Game Is In My Psp?

When i turn on my psp nothing comes up but the backround when a game is in the slot. The games wont play on it either. Does anyone know why that is? Does anyone know how to fix it?
the same thing happens to me i just take open the slot the close it again and the icons reappear
